How is Seattle Biodiesel's fuel different from other fuels?
Seattle Biodiesel exceeds the strictest quality standards set by the American Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM), ensuring a technologically advanced, reliable, and stable fuel that distributors trust. We produce premier alternative fuels crafted from the finest possible oilseeds stock, while our proprietary production technology allows us to produce a higher quality fuel with a longer shelf life in faster time. As Seattle Biodiesel expands, we will continue to develop the proprietary technology innovation that has made us an industry leader.
What is the source of your oil?
Seattle Biodiesel produces pure, unblended B100 biodiesel refined from a variety of oils; canola grown in Washington State, soy, and many other crops. We do not use waste vegetable oil (wvo) at this time.
How much fuel do you make?
The Seattle refinery is a commercial scale plant capable of producing 5 million gallons a year of ASTM-certified biodiesel.
Do you offer facility tours?
Unfortunately, no. As Seattle Biodiesel develops proprietary technology and trade secrets in its pursuit of biofuel leadership, we regret that we are unable to offer facility tours to the public.
Are there cold weather usage restrictions for biodiesel?
Seattle Biodiesel recommends blending our biodiesel with conventional diesel fuel or cold weather additive when the temperature drops below 35 degrees Fahrenheit. Contact your Seattle Biodiesel distributor for specific recommendations and solutions.
Does biodiesel have any maritime applications?
Biodiesel is well suited for many marine applications. Crews appreciate the cleaner emissions, and the EPA lists biodiesel as a non-hazardous material. Please contact your distributor to discuss your specific needs.
